The Similkameen River is one of BC’s few remaining transboundary waterways that has been left undeveloped for hydropower. The river runs over the border into the US, and eventually into the Columbia River. Now, a BC river is at risk too. Fortis Inc. wants to add this Canadian waterway to that list by building a dam on the Similkameen. This development would have devastating effects, potentially flooding all the way up to Cawston.
