“Protecting Our Grasslands with a National Park Reserve”-Presentation by Doreen Olson

On Monday, February 27th, SOS NPN coordinator Doreen Olson will speak on  “Protecting Our Grasslands With a National Park Reserve”:

“Grasslands around the world are in peril, year after year they top the list of the most threatened ecosystems on the planet. Right here in our own backyard, the grasslands of the Okanagan have persisted through time and remain a stronghold for over thirty percent of B.C.’s species at risk. Join us  to learn about our grasslands and the work being done to protect these fragile habitats in a new national park reserve, and  discover what it would mean for the wildlife and the people in our communities to bring this level of protection to one of the most unique places in the country.”

The presentation will be held in the lecture theatre at the Penticton campus of Okanagan College (583 Duncan Ave West) starting at 7:00 pm.

Admission is by donation to support students in need at the Penticton campus.
